Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie on the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet

It’s award show season! Tonight Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet in style with both of them presenting awards this evening, as well as each being up for an award. Brad is a contender for best actor for Moneyball while Angelina’s In the Land of Blood and Honey is up for Foreign Language Film.

They both look amazing! Brad always looks polished in his tuxes and the cane adds a certain debonair aura. I had a bit of a laugh at the fact that his pants seem to be a tad too long; being on the short side, many of my own pants look much the same way.

Meanwhile, I am left all but speechless over Angelina’s gown. The simple and elegant style of the dress along with the splash of red on the top piece (and matched by her purse) are just perfect. I like her hair up like that and although I usually prefer when Angelina sticks to nude glosses and lipsticks, the red lipstick works beautifully with this gown.

I wish them both the best of luck in their film categories. I know what the critics and experts have predicted but I’m still crossing my fingers that they’ll surprise everyone and win! I’m also looking forward to their presentation segments! Stay tuned for more photos and video of Brad and Angelina at the 2012 Golden Globes as they become available.

Meanwhile, a few more photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet below the cut.

  7. Anna says:

I was shock to see her in this dress.I never seen her this glamorus before.I thought she was going to play it safe and wear another black dress.I love when it,when an actress wows the public in a beauiful gown.Angelina did that tonight.I hope she keeps this up at the SAG and the Oscars.Brad didn’t win.I know he happy for his friend George.Still what is going to take for him win that top honor. He been in this business 2o years.Don’t you think it time he wins something. He got two more chances,so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

  8. Anna says:

I like the way George made fun of Brad. How both of them said something about each other films.Morgan Freeman getting the Cecil B Demill Award.I was shock by the other dashing men there tonight:Johnny,Jake,Channing, and others.Biggest letdown,WHERE WAS RYAN GOSLING?!Well I guess you can’t have you cake and eat it to.

Soooo…. stunning! There is nothing else to say!

  11. Edna says:

She so beautiful, like she is in the Tourist and Gia. She dress up elegantly. So perfect with her beauty. Everyone is mesmerized by her beauty. I never seen anyone as beautiful as she is. Brad is so lucky that Angelina loves him too. Wish them the best of happiness. There is something very special with this two. Very glamorous, sexy, despite her slim body, they have shape, that turn every men and women head when she and Brad pass by..It’s funny but it’s true. Make you jump with joy. Love this couple, they are number one, among our artist.

  12. Deana Sonjic says:

This is one of the most beautiful dressed I have ever seen.
And Angie looks so fresh, so beautiful.

  13. Mary Ann says:

Sherry, thanks for these beautiful pictures. I am also so disappointed that neither of them won.

  14. claireb says:

  15. Lynne says:

Wow…wow…wow! That dress was a perfect dress on a beautiful lady. And Brad…. So much beautifulness in one place is overwhelming. I wish they had won something, but they sure won the red carpet.

  16. Marie says:

how cute is Brad when asked about his first reaction when he saw AJ in her dress……
    http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2012/01/brad_pitt_on_angelina_jolies_stunning_golden_globes_look.php?adid=trendingstories

and ETonline has a little clip where Brad cracks up that she told the crying in the shower story…super cute!!

  17. Arrielle says:

Marie- Do you have a link to that ET online clip?

  18. casi says:

6 pages of new and/or reangled photos plus videos and a picture of AJ and ITLOBAH actress, Zana Marjanovic, sitting with US president and a link of Ms. Marjanovic reporting about visit. (May need to be translated if you don’t have Google or other translator.)

    Clooney’s poke at Brad =>

George had borrowed Brad’s cain and hobbled up on stage with it to present Moneyball, joking:

“I have to give it back to him. [...] He can’t make it to the bar otherwise.”

    ——–

I’m slightly baffled by Angelina’s eyebrows… what on earth happened to them? Honestly, I’m sometimes just at a loss at what they do to these poor things at awards season… Darker eyebrows on some, lighter on others. But they went a bit on the light side on her this time. Just a breath over the line for what looks normal/natural. Or is it an extremely harsh lighting? Her natural dark brown shade suits her pale skin better. This sort of painted yellowish shade wahses her out a bit. Makes her waxy. Still a beautiful woman, so please don’t get me wrong.

Dress was okay… Beautiful, yes – but it’s all because of the scarlet “fold over” at the top! It makes the whole thing pop. Otherwise your eyes would be yawning all over the endless cream, cream, cream. Very Atelier Versace otherwise. Nothing new. She wore something like that (but with a tad more volume and more constructed) for the Baftas a couple of years ago – black dress with a yellow fold over. That was truly stunning! This dress was a “ping”, the older one a “pow” :P

Why do I feel a bit harsh when everyone else seem to be falling over themselves in a bid to praise it? heh…

I do love the way they do her eyes though! Perfect. As for losing out on the awards… eh… they did have stiff competition. So, I’m not going to complain :) Looked cute as always together… We’ll be seeing more of this in the months to come! Looking forward to the next RC-outing

  21. Marie says:

    Arrielle,
go to etonline.com and it’s the clip that says GC thinks BP is a good kisser….

  22. Marie says:

Just watched the View and would someone tell me why it’s OK to say someone’s arms or someone who is always skinny, has always been skinny, may fluctuate 5-10 lbs as most women do and rag about how skinny they are yet if someone is overweight it’s a bad thing to say…..why do people have to always critisize women’t weight?!?!?!
even women!! especially women!! we are cruel to eachother!!

  23. Caroline says:

I like the dress a lot. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite of all time, but I think it is beautiful. I didn’t notice her eyebrows. I thought she would wear black (for ITLMH) not colorful (fun for Moneyball) – I think she does a fun job of matching her outfit to the mood of what she is celebrating. This is a nice elegant in the middle of the two situations dress.

  24. Caroline says:

I meant to add that I would love to see her earrings up close if anyone has a link to a photo.

  25. ducks says:

Sherry, These are just jaw-dropping pictures. They both look as if they have lost some weight but are still so very beautiful. I wish there were dolls with dresses and suits they have worn in the past. I’d buy them . Thanks again, ducks

  26. casi says:

    Caroline,
Check the link I submitted about 4 comments up. Several close-ups where you can get a better view of the earrings.
Also, since that link above, a new page (27) was added with an extreme close up.

  27. Debs says:

When I first saw Angelina she had just come out of the limo. I didn’t like the dress at first but when I saw her walked the red carpet and the more I saw the dress the more I liked it. Didn’t notice her eyebrows – have to go back and check. I thought she looked absolutely gorgeous. I liked her hair up but I am probably the only one that liked the updo she had better the day before when she met with the other foreign film directors. The updo was looser where as at the GG it pulled tighter. Anyway, she’s so beautiful –
    she looks good in anything.

  28. Noelle says:

Somewhere I saw it mentioned that Angie’s dress matches the ITLOBAH poster. If that is indeed what she tried to do, then I think it’s pretty cool! I adore this dress. I love the structure of it – it’s beautifully constructed – and the pop of red. I actually like it when her hair is pulled back tight like this to show off her features. The makeup is flawless (I wish someone would make my eyes up like that) but she DOES almost look too perfect – like a wax replica of herself. Ah well, what are you going to do when you’re drop dead gorgeous… go home with Brad Pitt I guess. ;-)

I sincerely hope Brad gets the Oscar. It’s time….

  29. Lisa says:

thanks Jamie, that was a great video.

  30. Arrielle says:

Thanks Marie! I found it….it was adorable!!

  31. sunny says:

The red& milky saten dress matched with ITLOBAH’s poster and I thought it’s interesting and funny. It was 3D-ish perfect fit for her body structure. I thought it was very beautiful and classy.

And BAFTA just announced the final lists of nominees
    *leading actor
    Brad Pitt Moneyball
Gary Oldman Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
    George Cooney The Descendants
    Jean Dujardin The Artist
    Michael Fassbender Shame
I’m happy because Jonah Hill also nominated for Best Supporting Actor among veteran actors. They will be in London on Feb. 12th and next day will be in Berlin.

  32. zce says:

Brad looks great and Angelina looks absolutely ‘STUNNING’, actually Angelina looks great coming and going. Angelina made a statement about getting in bed with Brad, I feel she was saying what Brad was thinking, ‘that thought is mutual baby’.   They look so beautiful together and it is amazing how she has grown, ‘I JUST LOVE IT WHEN PLANS COME TOGETHER’. GOD BLESS THE JOLIE -PITTS and he should have won and he will, just my positive thinking.

  33. 007 says:

Thanks Casi for the new Yuku-link. Huuuge pictures!

Aw… Have to say though, as for the BAFTAs, I’m for hoping Gary Oldman… Well deserving.

  34. Kati says:

Sherry – thanks for these jaw-dropping pics of Brad and Angie! I just can´t stop looking at them. So sad that neither onne of them won but they have something much more important in their lives:each other, their six healthy children and happiness. I simply love Angie´s beautiful dress. She looks like a goddess and damn doesn´t Brad look just smoking hot in his tux? Can´t wait to see what Angie will wear for the SAGs and the Oscars this year! No matter what she´ll be wearing she has the most perfect accessory a woman can only dream of:Brad Pitt!

  35. Noelle says:

There are some new photos of Brad with fans today http://jjb.yuku.com/topic/700006/Angelina-Brad-6-On-Board-Part-2?page=28. On page 29 are some pics I have not seen from the GG’s. Also, a reporter is claiming that Angie told Brad on the red carpet that he’s prettier than her. Hmmm.

  36. Debs says:

Does anyone here know if Angelina’s movie ITLOBAH is eligible for an oscar nomination in foreign film or best movie category?

Check this out – nice article

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-van-zandt/land-blood-honey_b_1209383.html?ref=celebrity&ir=Celebrity

  37. sunny says:

Debs, ITLOBAH is not eligible for foreign film category because it does not have a ‘ foreign nationality’. It’s an US film with
‘ foreign language ‘. In order to be a foreign film, it should be made by foreign filmmakers and need to be chosen by their country’s film industry as their country’s submission to Academy.
It has a chance as an US film, though. I think it was among 39 contenders for ‘ original song ‘.

  39. Debs says:

Sunny, thanks for explaining it. I do hope it gets a chance as US film.

  40. Caroline says:

I’ve been reading about the “home in bed with Brad” remark, and can I just say (I haven’t seen the remark, only “read it”), that I didn’t take it to be lascivious. I took it to be how I feel about my husband. At the end of the day, win or lose, at least we are together and that is where I am most happy. She also said her kids were at home in her bed. Like I said, I’m not sure if there was more to the remark (which I don’t find offensive even if it was meant in a sexy way), but I thought it was sweet and loving.

  41. rose porter says:

Does anybody know when and where they’re going to show ITLOBAH? I would like to watch the movie. I’m from Sacramento, CA thanks for any help

  42. Arrielle says:

Caroline- I’m sorry, but I have no idea what remark you are referring to. I am very interested, though! Is there a specific article that you are talking about so that I can take a gander and gain insight on the matter?

Sunny-Thanks for sharing that link! I liked the video very much. Angelina has the greatest ability for being so candid and personal. It’s infectious! I love her to pieces!!

    GOD, I MISSED THIS SITE!!!!!

  43. Arrielle says:

Just had to share this link….Brad is adorable!

  44. casi says:

Reporters can be so asnine. In the article/video that Sunny posted the reported asked AJ if she discussed Salt 2 with CIA Director David Petraeus.
    Really?! What a silly question.
She was gracious as ever, though, and clarified how he has helped her with (real) issues concerning her humanitarian work.

  45. Caroline says:

I saw it several places, but here is one reference!

I also think it is cute she said Brad is “prettier” than she is!

  46. Lisa says:

Sunny thanks for that video. He’s a good interviewer and Angie speaks so eloquently and intelligently. Inspiring….

  47. Lisa says:

does anyone know when ITLOBAH will be released in CAnada such as my home town of Ottawa? or will I have to wait till video.. hope not.

  48. Debs says:

Not sure if anyone saw this. On PBS, Jeffrey Brown interview with Angelina/ two cast members ITLOBAH. Short video.

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/entertainment/jan-june12/bloodhoney_01-17.html

  49. sunny says:

Lisa, release date of ITLOBAH in Canada is so far,
    Toronto—Jan.20
    Montreal&Vancouver—Jan.27
Sorry, Ottawa is not in the list but the Canada’s report say it may expand later.

  50. Lisa says:

    thanks Sunny!
    I am 2 hrs from montreal…maybe I will make a road trip :)

  51. Arrielle says:

Caroline- Thanks for posting the link! I totally agree with you…I think everyone’s just out to get a juicy story.

  52. csw says:

I get annoyed with these award ceremonies because in my opinion-just my opinion AJ and BP are invited (sorry nominated) to increase the viewing figures not because they want to give them the award they so truly deserve

In my opinion BP performance in the Tree of Life was powerful even more so than Moneyball.

I hope AJ and BP get some financial reward out of these appearnaces because myself and other supporters are anticipating the hoping of Zahara Jolie-Pitt centre.

  53. testingagain says:

    @csw
What are you talking about? It’s not the people resposible for the shows that decide who is nominated. Take SAGs, the nominations are made by the votes of the actors with a SAG card and those actors are not part or responsible for the show.

Angelina and Brad don’t get money to show up on the awards they were nominated for. No one does.

  54. sunny says:

I think 2011 was a very fruitful year for both Brad&Angie. Probablly they have reached at the peak of their career and that peak will continue more several years. People has up-and-down time. If I can say 1998-2004 was a career- down- time for Brad (no great performances in these 6 years), 2005- 2011 was a career-expanding time ( he played very challenging characters in Babel, Jesse James, Benjamin Bottan, TOL and Moneyball ). Babel/JesseJames/Benjamin was ‘ hop’ , TOL/ Moneyball was ‘ step’ and his ‘ jump ‘ work is coming soon.
Brad&Angie have succeeded in transforming from ‘ popular movie star ‘ to another stage of their career.

  55. casi says:

I don’t think they’ve peaked. Just look at all of the upcoming projects they have between them. They are hotter commodoties now as they have ever been and more popular than ever. No, I think it’s because they are ‘outsiders’ relative to the Hollywood community and stay more insulated within their family circle. They are not out self-promoting or politicing or socializing. (Did you see Clooney hobnobing at the GG, he was everywhere?!) I also think that they are both underestimated as actors because they are both so goodlooking. Brad has impressive body of work and has transformed himself in several roles, most recently, Babel, Tree of Life, Benjamin Button, even Jesse James. Serious Oscar worthy performances. Tree of Life has been totally overlooked and even if the movie was too ‘ethereal’ for critics and movie goers, surely Brad’s interpretation of the father was outstanding. I have always compared Brad’s lack of recognition, particularly by the Academy Awards and other awards committees with Paul Newman’s award history. In his time he had an extraordinary body of work but never received an Oscar until he was 61 in 1986 for The Color of Money and then in the same year he received an honorary Oscar award for lifetime achievement. He too was a humanitarian and not a ‘Hollywooder’ but lived quietly in Connecticut with his actress wife, JoAnn Woodard. I hope I’m wrong and that Brad will not have to wait in the same vein to be recognized. Clearly, it has too be frustrating and maybe even hurtful as it seemed to be for Newman to always be the groomsmen but never the groom. :(
I’ll still keep my fingers crossed that he will be chosen as the best actor at the AA.

Check out Newman’s acceptance speech if interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mliZGto9M3k

  56. Debs says:

It’s amazing how politics plays a part in everything. I agree the joliepitt’s are outsiders in HW and don’t play politics. If I am not mistaken wasn’t Angie always more of an outsider (way before Brad) and yet she won the AA. I don’t think she was nominated again until the changeling. She was nom for a GG for a mighty heart but not for an AA. Is she and brad well liked in HW?

  57. Yoco says:

Angie received 2 NAACP Image awards noms for Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Foreign Film. BTW they also nominated her for AMH in 2008. This is an outstanding they usually focus on honoring films about People of Color(Blacks, Hispanics, Asians). The Help which I still haven’t seen received 8 noms.

  58. casi says:

They are like old Hollywood glamour and present day Hollywood Royalty. No other stars really compare with that description. Dare I think out loud and say just maybe some may be a bit jealous? Red carpets and celebrity gatherings are just not the same if they don’t show up as a couple or individually. Their presence really does dominate an event. Luv it!!
And yes, Debs, you’re right, AJ has always done it her way, which is why I have always liked her.
    :)

  59. casi says:

And being nominated for NAACP awards, very nice…

  60. Debs says:

I have come to believe that there is jealousy for Brad and Angie, especially Angie. Yes there no other stars that compare to them. I have no interest in anyone in HW but these two. There’s no one in HW that stands out not even clooney.

I would love to see Brad win an acadamy award and I also would love to see ange win another for best actress because i really think she’s a great actor. I hope she does not give up the acting. I want to see more movies with her.

  61. casi says:

    ITA, Debs.
Here’s latest pics of Brad – & no cane!
    http://jjb.yuku.com/topic/700006/Angelina-Brad-6-On-Board-Part-2?page=33
He’ll be walking that red carpet without help on Saturday (2012 Producers Guild Award). Just hope Angie accompanies him. It doesn’t even matter it won’t be televised as long as we can see them on the red carpet!!

  62. Debs says:

Angie will definitely be there she’s accepting the Stanley Kramer award. I think Morgan Freeman is presenting to her.

I kind of like him with the case :) . No it’s nice to see him back to himsself.

  63. sunny says:

I don’t think Brad/Angie are outsiders of HW. They are not publicity-driven people nor kissing everyone’s asses but they are liked and loved by HW. Angie was not nominated for Academy Awards in 2007 because A Mighty Heart was not recognized by Academy members. Winterbottom’s directing was too documentary-like to be Academy’s favor.
But actors guild SAG recognized her performance and nominated her. Actors understand other actors more than anyone else.

In my previous comment, I said Brad/Angie have reached at the peak of their career and it will continue several years. I meant ‘peak’ for ‘ up/best time ‘. Sorry for my poor word choice.
Angie was not in any movies released in 2011(2012, too) but I thought she reached at her best time of her career because she could materialize ITLOBAH without having her own production company. Many actresses have their own production companies but only some of them can materialize their projects into filming and they are largely backed-up by their talent agencies. She was lucky because Graham King had just launched GKFilms and FilmDistrict in US and decided to support her with his production and distribution companies. But if she were not powerful enough, he would not risk himself.
I have a feeling she has developped her new resume during the process of making and promoting her movie. WashingtonD.C was a surprise.

  64. sunny says:

thanks for NAACP info. The lists she and her movie are nominated

    Outstanding Foreign Motion Picture
    “A Separation” (Sony Pictures Classics)
    “Attack the Block” (Screen Gems)
“In the Land of Blood and Honey” (FilmDistrict)
    “Le Havre” (Janus Films)
“Life, Above All” (Sony Pictures Classics)

Directing in a Motion Picture (Theatrical or Television)
    Alrick Brown — “Kinyarwanda” (AFFRM)
Angelina Jolie — “In the Land of Blood and Honey” (FilmDistrict)
Dee Rees — “Pariah” (Focus Features)
Salim Akil — “Jumping the Broom” (TriStar Pictures)
Tate Taylor — “The Help” (DreamWorks Pictures/Participant Media/Touchstone Pictures

  65. Debs says:

All the the ladies here are well informed. I don’t know much about HW and it’s politics. I am learning a lot. I got the sense that Angie may not be liked very much (maybe some jealousy) but as I said I don’t know much about HW. It’s nice to hear from you that she and brad are loved.

After the GG, I have lost some hope that brad will win the AA. I really thought he would have it over clooney. I just wonder when his next chance will be. I thought he was great in Moneyball. Did not see TOL but read his performance was fantastic.

  66. testingagain says:

    @Debs
It’s true there’s a lot of jealousy and envy in HW, but Angelina has always been liked and respected by her pers and other people working in the business, especially the ones that have work with her. She always been very professional even in her youth.

  67. sunny says:

Debs, I read many HW people was admiring Angie ( I think neer has a long long list of them). I had read several unknown actors’s positive comments at some film-related site. On the set of her movies she mingledwell with even those unknown actors and she left very positive impressions. Angie and Brad may not be loved as much as Clooney or Meryl Streep but they are liked enough by HW people. Clooney cares everyone in his sight. And he is funny. That’s why he is liked by so many HW people. Streep has long career and people give her huge respect for her great work.

Some actress who was not liked in HW was Sean Young (I loved Rachel in Blade Runner) because of her odd behavior toward other acting people. And Debra Winger. They eventually faded from the stardom?despite their great talent and beauty.
Sorry, young people may not know those names since they are now around 50.

Recent one is Mel Gibson. He has created a lot of ememies in HW with his anti-Jew comment. HW is full of Jews. Almost all studio bosses, a lot of agents and actors/actresses are Jews. Even his then-agent Emanuel is a Jew. He kicked out Gibson from his talent agency WME. So his friend Robert D. Jr. (he is a Jew) mediated the reconciliation between him and big names at the ceremony where Robert was honoured. There were a bunch of Jewish big names for celebrating Robert and it was the best opportunity of Gibson’s mending relationship with these people.

  68. casi says:

    Sunny,
I don’t think Debs and I know I didn’t mean to say they weren’t liked, but rather they are not Hollywood insiders as far as the partying, socializing aspect, politics, etc. They stay within their family circle and close friends and are constantly on the move. I think it would be naive to think that their immense popularity, their success as humanitarians and subsequent recognition by US leaders and other country’s leaders, their solidarity as a Hollywood couple, thier being in high demand and their undeniable impact on the Hollywood scene even without all the hobnobbing, could annoy some in that very competitive world, maybe just a bit!

  69. casi says:

I forgot to say that if they weren’t liked, they would probably be ostracized on some level like Sean Young or have trouble finding work kind of what Mel Gibson is experiencing now. They have none of those problems. And I think it’s not the populace that has issues with them but rather their peers who, not matter how much they say they feel sorry for B&A because of papparazzi, etc., they secretly wish they had even a tad much attention and fan frenzy!

casi, my comment was a response to Debs’s comment (she wrote “I got the sense that Angie may not be liked very much (maybe some jealousy) ). My opinion: Jealousy is inevitable in very competitive HW but everyone can be a target of jealousy. It’s not only Angie. Meryl Streep is over 60 but she can get any roles she wants. She enough make other veteran actresses jealous. Rising star Jessica Chastain can do other ambitious young actress jealousy. Rooney Mara got a big role from Fincher but recently someone spread the rumor of she was sleeping with him ( probably started from the camp whose actress is aiming Oscar ballot’s last spot).
My point of my previous comment was 1. troublemakers are not liked in HW and they will lose jobs eventually 2. and Angie is not the one.

By the way, Ewan McGregor Loves Angelina Jolie’s ‘Blood and Honey’.
He once co-stared with Johnny Lee Miller in Dany Boyle’s Trainspotting.
He praised her movie saying,? “(The movie is) Amazing ! Very Important!”

ps: sunny thanks for that link from Ewan…he’s a great actor and his comments worthwhile. I have heard some mixed reviews on the script of ITLOBAH saying it’s abit disjointed but overall people have positive reviews in Canada (TO) of her film release here on the 20th

  74. Yoco says:

According to tweets Brad is at PGA nominees breakfast right now . He is on a panel with Spielberg. There may be pics later from the breakfast.

  75. Jamie says:

Even if Brad and Angelina do no win any awards this time (and they should, but I don’t have a vote), they have really shown how much respect they have for their work as actors, producers, and directors. They are on panels with some pretty high rollers and are holding their own. There are tweets about how well Brad is doing on the Producers panel and we saw how great Angelina did last week with the Directors. To top it all off, they go to the White House to present their projects to the President.

I hope their fans are proud of them and the work they are doing. There is just so much positive stuff they are doing and it is just so great. The beautiful red carpet pictures are just a bonus.

Would someone please check the first page (34) and view the pictures midway with shots of Angelina on a bed and then with Brad. Has anyone seen those before and have some info on them? I haven’t seen them before.
